Setup Guide: How to Install & Use on Different Platforms
Here’s how to get your HP DeskJet 2600 up and running, depending on whether you use a PC, Mac, smartphone, or other OS.
Windows Setup (Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11)
- Unbox the printer, remove all protective packaging and tapes from cartridges, and plug in the power cable.
- Insert the black and tri-color ink cartridges — black cartridge goes into the right slot, tri-color into the left slot. Ensure they click in place.
- Load A4 (or your desired) paper into the input tray; adjust the paper guides to fit the paper width.
- On your PC, download and install the HP printing software / driver (or use built-in Windows driver). Alternatively you can install the official app/software recommended by the printer.
- During installation, connect the printer via USB if prompted. After installation, you can switch to wireless if preferred.
- Once installed, print a test page to verify printer is working. Then try scanning to check scanner function.
