Setting Up Your HP DesignJet 110 Printer

The HP DesignJet 110 is a versatile, wide-format printer suitable for small offices and designers. Its setup involves assembling the unit, installing the separate ink system, and connecting it to your computer via the fast and reliable USB or through a network.

1. Initial Printer Setup (For All Users)

Follow these steps to prepare the physical printer for connection.

  1. Unpack and Assemble: Carefully remove the printer and all components. If you have the optional stand, assemble the stand and place the printer securely on top. Remove all internal and external packaging materials and tapes.
  2. Install Printheads and Ink Cartridges: Open the access cover. The DesignJet 110 uses separate, replaceable Printheads and Ink Cartridges for each color (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow).
    • Install Supplies: Insert the printheads into their corresponding color-coded slots first, followed by the ink cartridges. Push firmly until they click into place. Close the access cover.
  3. Load Paper (Roll or Sheet): This model supports multiple media paths:
    • Roll Feed: Load a paper roll onto the spindle and feed the paper through the designated slot.
    • Sheet Feed: Use the multi-sheet input tray for individual pages.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power cable into the back of the printer and into a wall outlet. Press the Power button to turn the printer on. The printer will run a brief initialization . . .
