HP DesignJet 100 Plus

Setting Up Your HP DesignJet 100 Plus Plotter

The HP DesignJet 100 Plus is a professional large-format printer designed for high-precision output. The key to a successful setup is following the physical assembly steps and ensuring the proper, dedicated drivers are installed for your operating system.

1. Initial Printer Setup (For All Users)

The DesignJet is a larger piece of equipment, so take care during this phase.

  1. Unbox and Assemble: It is recommended that two people handle this step. Carefully remove the plotter unit and its accessories from the box. If you have the optional stand and catch basket, assemble the stand and place the plotter securely on top, ensuring the feet fit into the notches on the supports.
  2. Install Printheads and Cartridges: Open the ink system access cover. The 100 Plus uses four separate Printheads and four Ink Cartridges (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow).
    • Install Cartridges: Insert the cartridges into their color-coded slots until they click and the front panel display shows them as full.
    • Install Printheads: Open the printhead carriage cover and insert the four printheads (remove protective tape first), pushing down on the tops to lock them in place. Close the covers securely.
  3. Load Paper: This model supports multiple paths:
    • Small Input Tray: Pull out the tray and extend it if necessary for larger sheets (up to A2/C-size). Place the paper and adjust the guides snugly.
    • Manual Rear . . .
