Setting Up Your HP DeskWriter 670c Printer
The HP DeskWriter 670c is a reliable, wired color inkjet printer. A successful setup requires the correct physical cable connection and the installation of its legacy driver using your operating system's built-in tools.
1. Initial Printer Setup (For All Users)
Before plugging the printer into your computer, ensure the hardware is ready.
- Unpack and Prepare: Carefully remove the printer from the box and detach all protective packaging materials, tapes, and foam inserts from the exterior and interior.
- Install Cartridges: The DeskWriter 670c uses two separate cartridges: one Black cartridge and one Tri-color cartridge. Open the front access cover, install both cartridges firmly into their designated slots until they click into place, and then securely close the cover.
- Load Paper: Place a stack of standard paper into the input tray. Adjust the paper width guides to align snugly against the edges of the paper, keeping the stack straight.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the back of the printer and into a functioning electrical outlet. Press the Power button to turn the printer on.
